Put the data in. Get the finished thing.

Four tools that run in your own browser, right now, with no sign-up and without talking to anyone. You can try them on your real data: the file never leaves your computer — there is no server to receive it. You can check that yourself, in the Network tab.

And beyond what fits in a web page

The tools above show what can be done. They do one thing the real version does not: they ask you for the file every single time. At a client, the data arrives on its own and the report exists without anyone asking for it.

Why you would want Power BI

Because in a small business the data is not missing — the view across it is. The invoices are in one place, the orders in another, the appointments on a phone and the hours in a notebook. Each part is fine. Together they do not answer the question that matters: where am I actually losing money and time?

That is what the dashboard above does, in miniature — and it also shows why it is worth it: on the sample data, the category that eats the most time is only fifth by number of jobs. The hole was not where everyone was looking. That kind of thing is invisible in a table; it only shows when the numbers sit next to each other.

Power BI does that permanently, not once: it connects to the source once and from then on the report exists on its own, the same for everyone, without anyone asking. This month next to last month, which client or service eats your time, what changed after you changed something. It is included in most Microsoft 365 subscriptions you are already paying for.

When I would not recommend it: if you have one table and look at it once a month, Power BI is too big a hammer — then you stay on Excel and we only automate the copying. There is no point in a tool more expensive than the problem.

What it is built with

  • Power BI — the same report, but wired straight to the source: it refreshes itself, keeps the history month by month, and opens the same way on a phone. Who sees what is set per person, not per file.
  • Power Automate — the step missing between „the data exists" and „the report reached the person who needed it". It runs at the time you choose, or when something specific happens.
  • Power Apps — for when data has to be entered as well as read: a form of your own, on a phone, instead of an Excel file sent over WhatsApp and filled in by four people at once.
  • Dataverse — where the data lives once a spreadsheet is no longer enough: with types, rules and history, rather than a column where one person wrote „yes" and another wrote „YES ".

All four are part of Microsoft 365, so they are usually already paid for and nobody uses them. If you want to see what would change at your place, the shortest route is a 15-minute call where you show me what you do now, step by step.
